SF Doula Services provides two pre-natal visits, lasting from 2-3 hours, in which the primary and secondary doulas meet with the mother and her birth team. At these meetings we will discuss, among other topics, your hopes, dreams, fears, concerns and questions about your big day. Your doula can also help you develop your birth plan. We will also review exercises and comfort measures for labor, as well as positions for birth. If all of your questions and concerns were not answered during these home visits, we encourage you to call or email your doula. If we are unable to address a particular concern, we can refer you to a list of trusted birth-community resources.

Leading up to your estimated due date, we are on-call from two weeks prior to your due date until the day your child decides to come into this world. We will join you and your birth team when you feel you need us, whether that is at home or in the hospital, and support you through your birth and until 2 to 3 hours after your baby is born. You will receive one postpartum visit in the hospital and one additional visit at your home during which we will go over your birth story, assist with basic breastfeeding and newborn care, and make sure you are prepared emotionally and mentally for the first few weeks of motherhood.

Because we work in a partnership, SF Doula Services is able to provide you with a unique opportunity to meet and develop a relationship not only with your primary doula but also with your secondary doula. This ensures that in any event, you will be supported by a doula with whom you have formed a close relationship.

Our $1250 fee is based on our experience, we are willing to work with those with special circumstances. If you want a doula and cannot afford our fee, please email us.
